EAG asked Meridian to complete the long overdue refurbishment of the ground floor offices leading into their factory. EAG use the space as a transition between the factory workers and the office staff, and the brief was to incorporate a canteen and large training room into the design to encourage more interaction between all staff members. Initially, the area in question was dark and cluttered with years of build-up of files and products.
Working in conjunction with our sister company Meridian Interiors, our space planning provided an open plan office area, two single occupancy offices, a training room, canteen and meeting room. Desks and storage were selected from our Narbutas collection, in particular the Nova U desk Optima pedestals and Uni Plus tambour storage.
Within the canteen area we chose the Solace tub chairs to create a softer seating area, along with the stylish Foursure side chairs and high bar stools by Ocee Design to provide alternative height dining areas.
The training room was kitted out with flip-top tables and arranged in a horseshoe for training and larger meetings. The provision of flip-top tables allows EAG to easily reconfigure the layout to suit alternative functions.
The decoration was kept to EAG corporate office colours giving a fresh bright feel and glass sliding doors were installed to create the meeting rooms, matching previously installed specifications. In keeping with the corporate colours, fabrics and finishes were chosen to complement the theme.
EAG as a client were great to work with – being from the building profession themselves, the design and build process was very interactive with the client taking an active part in the decision making thought-out.
