The Brief
Having previously been used as a warehouse space, Airdri contacted Meridian to overhaul and fit out one of the larger areas within their premises into a combination of single offices, and an open plan office area.
With the previous arrangement being smaller offices that housed a few members of staff each, Airdri’s goal was to create a more collaborative working environment to improve workflow between departments and disciplines.
Alongside the change in working practises, strong branding and a welcoming environment were key to introduce, while allowing the space for future expansion as the company grew.
The Solution and Fit-Out
Our design team fully re-worked the space, stripping back all of the old existing partitioning to the outer shell, and re-forming the space with the needs to the client at the forefront. We created a large open plan space incorporating meeting rooms with a semi-glazed partition to let in natural light, as well as offices for individual use.
Within the open office area tambour cupboards at mid-height demarcated a walkway space, and created a semi-private meeting/breakout area for informal catch-ups & collaboration without having to book out a room.
Thinking ahead to future expansion the bank of desks that weren’t installed within this project had floorboxes with power and data still put in place so the area could be furnished at a later date without further adjustment.
